Project Plan

About a week ago I adopted a pet from the Michigan Humane Society. She is a lovable little jack russel puppy named Abigail. It wasnt easy finding her and it got me thinking about all of the poor cats and dogs who do not have homes. During this time is when I started researching kennels, pet stores, and shelters for animals. This is when I decided to write project one about puppy mills. Puppy mills are so called shelters that are over crowded and are extremely dirty. Dogs in these "facilites" are mistreated and under feed. Many animals rescued from there are often ill or hurt. People typically run these mills to sell the dogs to pet stores for top dollar, then the pet stores resell these dogs to people innocently looking for a new pet. Often people dont realize this and then don't understand why thier animal behaves badly and doesn't trust them. It all leads back to the source of thier puppyhood. Hopefully my audience will see the bad in these mills and support thier local humane societys and real local shelters. There are millions of animals who need us out there in the streets who just need a good meal and a warm bed. This is just as serious as any other issue facing our society today. It seems to me that many people often forget that we have to share this planet with many other species and tend not to care.

Activity 2

I choose I Wanna Hold Your Hand by The Beatles because as a little girl thats all me and my dad would ever listen. I have many favorites by this group but after I saw the movie Across The Universe I realized how much more these songs really meant to people. When I was younger I just new what the next line was only because I had heard it so many times. Now that I am older I realize how The Beatles were constantly telling a story, just like many other song writers.

Before these lyrics were on some random website in 12 point Times New Roman. Reading the lyrics this way was very boring so I decided to bring meaning to these words by arranging them to make something more. I arranged the words into the shape of a hand because it seemed more appropriate this way. The way that someone feels and the way you feel while you are holding hands is much more magically than it sounds and looks in straight lines written out.

Screen Shot

In this screen shot I am doing many task. I am looking up images on google, doing assignment one on ctools, looking up words at dictionary.com and going through blogger. Usually I try to stay focused on one thing at a time but I only was trying to get as much done in class as i could. I got a little confused while i was flipping back and forth from page to page but as soon as i was finished with my visual glossary it become much more organized. I prefer to keep all of my files and windows well organized but sometimes i find my self wrapped in music, school, chatting, and gaming all at once. In this photo all i was doing was school work so you can only imagine how my desktop feels when i am at home doing everything at once.

Assignment One

Busy town picture tags:4. c. Cartoon, Animals, Grand Theft Auto, GTA, Busytown, PBS, Apple Car, Rated mature, Fox, Cat, Towns, Kids, Richard Scarry

6. Alta vista's logo seems more sleek and sophisticated and is my least favorite. Yahoo! to me makes it seem like they are trying to make it exciting with the exclamation mark which doesn't really work for me because I do not use Yahoo!. Google seems the most fun and interesting because it always changes on the homepage and that is why it is my most favorite.

13. My advice would be to always make sure you read everything before you start believeing it, always make sure you know who made the site and its sources, and look at more than just one web page that comes from a reliable source. In looking for credibility you should always click on the about us link and see who wrote this site. Maybe even click on a "contact us" link to see if someone is willing to help you further. Try to stray away from site such as wikipedia that can be altered by anyone.

The evil parking lot.

As much time as i spend in my car in parking lots, there has never been a more worse parking lot that the one at u of m dearborn. I really do hate it. I could have been on time for class today if it wasnt for the lack of availible spaces. And its super creepy when you walk to your car and everyone starts to speed up and the slowly haunts you down that aisle. Then it turns into extreme pressure on you as to which way you are going to turn out into the lot to allow which car in. Also, people tend to become very territorial over the spot they are in and no matter how much of a rush they have been in before, people will actually slow down and take thier time pulling out just to make the point that this spot is thiers as if it had thier name on it or they owned it. Then finally the most amazing thing happens, someone starts up thier engine gives you the wave and lets you in thier place. When this happens its like this huge weight has been lifted off of your shoulders and you get out grab your things a go. But it doesnt end there, as your walking towards the build a person in the 1st couple of spots pulls out and there is no one there to take thier spot and for a 1/2 of second you are so tempted to move your car but u finally realize its all over now....move on.
